Library Books and the Marketplace by node
Quick note on how the Library and Marketplace relate to each other. Books in the Library are public domain classics available to everyone. You can add them to your collection, read them, annotate them, study the characters and locations, and use them as reference for your own writing. They are yours to learn from. What you cannot do is publish any of that Library content to the Marketplace — not the book, not the characters, not the locations, none of it. The originals are already free for everyone. Putting copies up for sale would just fill the Marketplace with duplicates of things that are already available. The Marketplace is for original work. Your stories, your characters, your worlds. That is where your voice belongs. You can still use Library material as inspiration in your own books and export everything as CivBooks. The restriction only applies to Marketplace publishing.
