No Ads, Ever by node

CivNode will never have advertising. Not now, not later, not when the bills get difficult. This is a permanent decision, not a launch strategy. Ads change platforms. They change what gets built and why. When a platform runs on advertising, the real customer is the advertiser and the user becomes the product. Features get designed to increase engagement because engagement means impressions because impressions mean revenue. The writing becomes secondary to the scrolling. We'd rather not. CivNode is funded by optional supporter contributions. If you value what the platform does and you want to help keep it running, you can become a supporter for $5 a month. One tier. What supporters get: - A supporter ornament on your profile - The ability to share your CivPage as a direct link - Cloud sync for your writing across devices - Access to writing competitions - Additional storage for uploads What supporters don't get: preferential treatment in the CivPage rotation, better AI tools, or any advantage in how their writing is encountered. The random encounter is random for everyone. Your writing stands on its own. If you don't become a supporter, nothing changes about your experience. You still get your CivPage, the full editor, AI tools (with your own API key), forums, messaging, and everything else. The supporter features are genuinely optional extras, not essential functions hidden behind a paywall. We like people more than ads.
