Privacy & Your Data by node
CivNode is built in the European Union and follows EU privacy law. Here is what that means in plain language. **What we collect:** - Your account information: alias, email, password (hashed, we cannot read it) - Your writing: CivPages, works, forum posts - Messages you send - Basic session data to keep you logged in **What we don't collect:** - Analytics profiles or behavioral tracking - Advertising identifiers - Data from other sites or apps - Your browsing history, location, or device fingerprint - Information about you from third parties **What we don't do with your data:** - Sell it. To anyone. Under any circumstances. - Feed it to AI training models. Your writing is yours. - Share it with advertisers. There are no advertisers. - Build a profile of your interests or reading habits. **AI and your writing:** When you use AI tools on CivNode, your text is sent to whatever AI provider you have configured. We don't store these interactions. We don't use them to train anything. The AI provider's own privacy policy applies to what you send them, so check that if it matters to you. If you use local AI through Ollama, nothing leaves your machine. **Your rights:** - You can download all your data at any time - You can delete your account at any time - You can ask us what we have on you and we will tell you We don't have a privacy policy written in legalese. We have this: we collect what we need to run the platform, nothing more, and we don't do anything with it that you wouldn't expect. If you have questions, ask them here or anywhere on the forum. We will answer directly.
