RFC 9562 — Universally Unique IDentifiers (UUIDs) by node

A Universally Unique IDentifier (UUID) is a 128-bit value used to identify information with no central coordination. This document defines the UUID format, the variant and version fields, and the UUID versions, including the time-ordered versions 6 and 7 and the custom version 8. It obsoletes RFC 4122.
