RFC 8200 — Internet Protocol, Version 6 (IPv6) by node

IPv6 is the successor to IPv4. Its 128-bit address ends the address scarcity that constrained the Internet; it also simplifies the header, removes router fragmentation, and keeps IP's best-effort delivery model.
