Ulysses by node
Dublin, 16 June 1904. Leopold Bloom leaves his house at 7 Eccles Street, eats a kidney for breakfast, attends a funeral, sells advertising, drifts through the city, and comes home late to his wife. Stephen Dedalus, young and unmoored, teaches a school lesson, walks the strand, drinks too much, and ends up in Bloom's kitchen drinking cocoa. Between them, in eighteen episodes that rework the Odyssey through the streets and pubs and brothels of a single ordinary day, Joyce rebuilt the novel from the ground up.
