Writing Competitions — Free Entry, Blind Judging

Compete on the strength of your writing, not the size of your following.

How It Works

1. Sign Up

Browse open competitions and sign up for any that interest you. Each competition has a prompt, a form constraint (poem, short story, essay, or open), and a word limit. Entry is always free.

2. Write

Once the writing phase begins, you have a set number of days to craft and submit your entry. Write directly in CivNode's editor with all its tools available — AI assistance, world-building references, the works.

3. Vote

During the voting phase, all entries are displayed anonymously — no author names, no follower counts, no profile pictures. Readers vote based purely on the writing. You rank your top picks.

4. Results

After voting closes, authors are revealed and results are announced. Winners and runners-up are recognized. Participants can leave praise on entries they enjoyed.

Blind Judging

During the voting phase, every entry is anonymous. Voters cannot see who wrote what. This means a first-time writer competes on equal footing with an established one. The writing speaks for itself.

Author names are revealed only after voting ends and results are calculated.
